Mathematical Shapes in Nature

This download teaches children about finding natural shapes in one complete math lesson.  

There is a detailed 32 slide PowerPoint on the types of shapes found, the mystery that surrounds some naturally forming shapes and why scientists and mathematicians believe some shapes occur so naturally. There is also an activity sheet to encourage students to go out and investigate natural shapes and record their findings. I have also included a video of my own mathematical shapes in nature lesson (using these resources) which took place online for teacher’s understanding or to show the class.

This pack is great for teaching kids all about the mathematical shapes that naturally appear in our world.
